Thermotech has delivered snow melting system to the new station area in Växjö to avoid snow clearing and sanding, snow and gravel indoors and to reduce the risk of pedestrians slipping and injuring themselves.

About the project

Växjö station area is undergoing a major change to become a safe and accessible meeting place for residents and visitors and a lively area with commerce and offices. Thermotech has delivered snow melting system to the entire new station area in Växjö. The first stage was completed during the winter of 2021/2022.

Thermotech´s delivery

Thermotech delivers snow melting system in stages to a total area of approx. 8,400 m² to the new station area in Växjö.

The advantages of snow melting system are many. You avoid snow removal and sanding, you don't drag as much snow and gravel indoors and you reduce the risk of pedestrians slipping and injuring themselves. The fact that you can use the return on the district heating to heat these surfaces is fantastic. This means that the water has already been used to heat other things, such as villas and apartments, and on the way back to the district heating central it takes the opportunity to melt snow and ice on these surfaces.
